WebiNaturalist launched in 2008 as part of a UC Berkley Master’s project, and the City Nature Challenge was only founded in 2016. iNaturalist users and observations continue to grow exponentially, just as the CNC adds new cities and participants every year. It’s a virtuous cycle of growth.
